I woke up today and hit the scale. You may notice that I hit the scale every morning. A lot of people say that checking your weight every day is bad. There is advice floating around about how often you should check your weight and what time of day you should check it. This advice makes sense, but my opinion is that checking often doesn’t hurt. In fact, I feel a greater understanding of my body when I know different levels of hydration and exercise and sleep affect my weight.
I woke up feeling fresh. Well hydrated. Ready to work a 16 hour double shift!
Driving to work in the dark, sitting in a windowless office, and driving home again in the dark… It doesn’t sound like much fun, but I made the most of it today.
I found ways to burn calories at work. I kept my core flexed whenever I thought about it. I wiggled and tapped my feet when I sat at my desk. I ate several small meals of hard boiled eggs, celery, peanuts, and coffee. Oh! and I brought an aero press and a 1/2 pound of Columbian Finca Diamante. I drank a lot of coffee.
